Bangkok Elle Fashion Week F/W 2015: III by Flynow and Tu’i

Yesterday I had a chance to attend the first day of Bangkok Elle Fashion Week F/W 2015. I wore an oversized denim dress, my 3.1 Phillip Lim Pashli Mini Satchel Bag in Lapis, a handmade embroidered teddy bear earrings by Aki-k (more cute items on my Tokyo post!), and some vintage stick pins I collect. The event started at 6:00PM onwards and there are three shows that day, I get to watch two which are III by Flynow and Tu’i. Here are some photos taken by me on each shows but if you would like to see high quality proper streets/runway snaps from the fashion week this year, Bug On Street will be posting on his page soon, so stay tuned! :-)

III by Flynow
III by Flynow remain their mega cuteness of quirky, which is their signature all this time, I am fascinated by how they expressed art through fashion. Their installation and the tune they chose gave me the feeling of a futuristic tribes with all their interesting patterns and textile designs, in which many of the pastels are my favorites! The show moves slowly yet hypnotizing, at the same time grabs my attention completely.

Tu’i’s Hôtel de Tu’i lighted fires in every single steps striking through the red carpet, their new accessories in the collection are glamorous and luxury as always, but this time with their aristocratic ladies, bellboys and maids throwing out the 30s and aristocracy vibes all over the atmosphere around the runway, I just can’t stop staring!

Red and Beret

When you run out of ideas on what to wear, grab a simple white top and a denim overall skirt from your wardrobe, wear them with bright colored lipstick and your favorite accessories. With denim and white, there are just so many ways to style the look. I wanted my look to be plain simple with just one bold color from the red. The beret gave the look a little identity, to me just that single accessory makes me feel like I’m an artist in Paris for the day.

Monday Pampering

Happy Monday! This must be my first ever beauty post. Apart from lipsticks, I am not that much of a make up addict. But I do love pampering myself (especially on monday mornings!) These are products I LOVE and cannot leave home without!

Chanel Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care: I use this on both days and nights right after the shower. I guess because it exfoliates the dead skin on your lips a little, the only time during daytime I’d prefer to use is after the shower. It’s not a glossy balm so it’s very comfortable to wear. But then again it’s for people who doesn’t have the driest lips, it’s more for those who would like to maintain their healthy lips. Apply them at night, wake up with soft and kissable lips the morning after 💋💋‍‍💋‍

Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm: I have no heart for other daytime balms after I found this baby. This will not only soften your lips magically but it also gives you a light sheer pink color, naturally pink that people probably thought it’s your real lips color (secret told). I apply this throughout the day and on days I am too lazy to wear colored lipstick. I think this can cure chapped lips much better than the Chanel one, it smells great too! The downside is that they have little bit of colors when you apply and is quite glossy so I’d prefer Chanel at night.

I am a big fan of clean, fresh and fruity perfume with a little (very little) bit of sweetness. Before these, Dior Addict Eau Fraiche was my all time favorite signature scent, I finished the third bottle and I still wanted to buy another one! The longevity is poor though, none of my perfumes ever lasted long enough because I can never stand the strong ones. But this scent is just something I love so much without even needing it to last that long (though if it does I would completely ditch the rest of the perfume I have).

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream: This is another cool, fresh with a twist of floral, fruity blackberry and pear kind of perfume. I love how it’s not as sweet as the original Marc Jacobs Daisy but still remain the youth you could feel from wearing this throughout the day. Like a morning freshness, the top note is quite fruity and flowery, then it dries down to a soft floral scent with a hint of lychee added to it.

Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay Cologne: The latest addition to my perfume collection, I know it’s not a perfume but this EDC lasts longer than my other fragrances! It’s very obvious you cannot wear all your favorite perfume at once or it’s going to make your day a big disaster. However, with Jo Malone you can! Well you can choose to wear different colognes combined together to create your own original scent. I think this Jo Malone Blackberry & Bay is unisex, I wear this sometimes before bed as well. It’s fresh and relaxing unlike other perfumes I own. It has this naturally fruity taste of blackberry and grapefruit on the top note and dries down to a clean smell of bay leaf and cedar wood.

My favorite combination is to apply Jo Malone’s Nectarine Blossom & Honey Cream (best skin softener) on first, because Blackberry & Bay isn’t a sweet perfume, when there’s a mixture of Nectarine Blossom & Honey on the skin, it gives an overall scent a little feminine but not overpowering that you’d get a headache. To me I find this brand least artificial compared to other perfumes I owned.

Pastel Boy

When you say boyish look, it doesn’t always have to be dull and monochrome all the time. A little pastel can be fun too! Newsboy caps I wore on my outfit to Chiangmai months ago doesn’t look as boyish as it is now with the fringe I’m having. I guess I’m starting to enjoy my new haircut now! I match the cap with my black Toms shoes again cause the material and the color is pretty much the same. I added the pastel into the look with the tee I chose to wear. Though the pattern seems more like a men’s t-shirt, the screening of one of my favorite characters ‘Barbapapa’ (made it now one of the most-loved items in my wardrobe!) matches my pink Vivienne Westwood watch quite perfectly.
